I've always been interested in photography. My first experience came from a Kodak Brownie (as did many 'baby boomers') and was cultivated much later when attending Cecil Community College in the early eighties. It wasn't until losing my position as a warranty administrator at a local car dealership in 2001 and accepting a freelance position with the York Dispatch, however, that my interest became an important part of my life. What I enjoy about covering the news is the variety of photography, in both content and type of shooting. Every assignment is different from the last and brings a new challenge, new aquaintences, new stories to tell. Guess that's why it's called the NEWS, yes?
But, deep down, there is something magical about tripping the shutter at just the right moment to convey an idea, emotion, personality or even a story.
It is my hope, through the images I create, whether for the news, a client or just shooting for family, friends or myself, that someone has enjoyed a part of their world more than yesterday.
