Deciding to utilize a 2-year degree in photography from Cecil College in North East, MD received in 1983, I started freelancing for the York Dispatch here in York, PA in 2001. The demands of newspaper work and the switch to shooting primarily with digital equipment enabled me to raise my skills as a photographer to a higher level, as well as increasing my love of creating images. I was offered a freelance position for the WellSpan Health Public Relations Department, which I did from 2007 through March of 2020 when Covid became a hinderance to shooting assignments on site. That was the universe telling me it would be a good time to retire. Now, I enjoy it as a hobby and shoot mostly for the enjoyment of family and friends, and an outlet to continue my love of creating images that hopefully others will enjoy as much as I do creating them.
